MVHC: Basketball Players of the Game – Monday, December 8th

MVHC Basketball

ZANESVILLE, OH – The footballs have magically turned into basketballs, but that doesn’t mean these high school athletes get any sort of rest between sports seasons. We have our first set of  “MVHC: Players of the Game” of the high school basketball season.

The Maysville Panthers came out swinging to open up Muskingum Valley League play on Z92 on Friday night. The defending small school division champions ran Tri-Valley out of the champ in an all-around team effort, led by 18 points from senior forward Jordyn Watson in the 71-27 win over the Scotties.

Friday night also saw Morgan host Caldwell in an out of conference matchup, in a game broadcasted on Highway 103. While the Raiders came up short in their second game of the season, Luke Coleman did a bit of everything on the court. The senior finished with ten points, including two three-pointers to go along with ten rebounds in the double-double effort.

Zanesville is now 2-1 on the young season after a historic 97-63 win over Philo on Saturday afternoon, which was broadcasted on AM 1240. It was the most points the Blue Devils have scored in 17 years, and they were led by junior guard Quinell Angler, who matched his jersey number with 23 points with three triples in the big victory.

Congratulations to all three athletes.
