MVHC: Basketball Players of the Game (Monday, February 16)

MVHC Basketball

ZANESVILLE, OH – As we prepare to enter the final week of the high school basketball regular season, these three athletes are rolling right into the the last handful of games as our “MVHC” Players of the Game.

It was a busy week for the Muskingum Valley League small school division winners, as Maysville not only knocked off Sheridan on the road but also beat the buzzer to top West Muskingum. Highway 103 had the road game at Glen Hursey gymnasium on Tuesday evening, where Kade Rock did a little bit of everything for the Panthers. The senior finished up with seven points, six rebounds, and five blocks in the win.

How about the Zanesville girls and what they have accomplished this season? The Lady Devils finished off a 9-1 regular season record at home with win over the Lady Panthers of Maysville. The crew from Z92 was there to call Ayawna Gladden’s dominant 20-point, 14-rebound double double in the 59-39 victory.

As it turns out, it was a two-for-one special on Z92 this past week. The “Dawg House” was the place to be on Friday night, as Tri-Valley avenged an earlier-season loss to Sheridan on senior night. Ryan Lamonica put together one of his best games of the season, leading all scorers with 25 points, as Tri-Valley won its third straight game.

Congratulations to all three athletes.
