MVHC: Basketball Players of the Game (Monday, February 23)

ZANESVILLE, OH – From start to finish, the 2025-26 high school basketball regular season delivered many incredible moments plays, and stories.

Before we cross the line into postseason play, let’s take a moment to recognize our final “MVHC” Players of the Game from the final week of the regular season.

The Rosecrans Bishops capped off a Mid-State League title winning season with a win over Wellington on Highway 103. Tyler Bernett has been the most consistent player all year long on multiple fronts, capping off the regular season with a 25 point, 10 rebound double double.

In a game heard on Z92 radio, two tremendous Muskingum Valley teams battled it out, with one coming from each division. West Muskingum represented the small schools well with a win over big school team Tri-Valley, led by senior forward Tavin Bennett with 15 points in the comeback win on senior night.

Tri-Valley though looks ahead to round one in the Division III playoffs, when it will host Zanesville. In a game heard on AM 1240, the Blue Devils took it to the Yellow Jackets of Mt. Vernon in a 55-46 win.

Nine different seniors were also recognized on Saturday afternoon, and Solomon Norris represents the class 0f 2026 with ten points and six assists in the victory.

Congratulations to all three athletes, and all players recognized during the regular season.
