MVHC: Basketball Players of the Game (Monday, January 19)

MVHC Basketball

ZANESVILLE, OH – Between a big return, defense, and some gritty play, this edition of our “MVHC” basketball Players of the Game earned the honors from some inspired play over the weekend.

Despite a split week from the Blue Devils across the two games, Zanesville senior Amarius Jackson did all the dirty work in the overtime win over Mt. Vernon on Tuesday. Jackson scored five points and grabbed six rebounds, continuing his consistent play all season long. As always, the Zanesville boys team will be on AM 1240 all season long.

Highway 103 covered a Guernsey versus Perry County matchup in the Muskingum Valley League small school division on Friday night. The Guernsey boys won, as Meadowbrook knocked off New Lexington. Senior swingman Masyn Campbell poured in 18 points along with four steals in the 47-40 victory.

Sheridan is happy to have its leading scorer back from a year ago, and in his first start of the season, junior guard Logan Russell finished with a game-high 17 points in a win over rival Tri-Valley, which could be heard on the home of the MVL big school division, Z92.

Congratulations to all three players.
