MVHC: Basketball Players of the Game (Monday, January 5)

ZANESVILLE, OH – Even though we have crossed over from 2025 into 2026, we still have some stars to recognize on the basketball court, who showed out last week with our latest ‘MVHC’ Players of the Game.
For the honoree from AM 1240, Zanesville guard CeeJay Whitfield dropped 24 points in the Blue Devils’ 2025 home finale. His team needed nearly every last point too, in a 64-62 overtime win over Horizon Science Academy.
It was an all-Zanesville affair on Saturday, with West Muskingum holding off Rosecrans, 64-51. Cade Porter did a little bit of everything in the Tornadoes’ win, as he claimed Highway 103 player of the game honors with ten points, ten rebounds, and seven assists.
It was truly a historic game in more ways than one on Z92 on Saturday night, as John Glenn topped Garaway in a non-league contest to open up the new year. Senior Brayden Davis wasn’t going to miss out on the fun, chipping in ten points in the team’s double-digit victory.
Congratulations to all three athletes.
