MVHC Players of the Game – Week Eight

ZANESVILLE, OH – Eight weeks down, just two more to go, in what has been a thoroughly entertaining 2025 high school football season.
The weekly “MVHC” Players of the Game have lived up to the hype as well, and week eight was no different.
From the game on Highway 103, the Maysville Panthers climbed back to .500 on the season with a win over west Muskingum. Kohen Lewellen has stepped up in a big way this year, and this past week, he finished with 80 yards on the ground plus a touchdown. However, that was just his offensive numbers, to pair with eight tackles on defense.
Moving over to the game from Z92 on Friday night, Tri-Valley took down Philo in a big school showdown. It’s never easy replacing one of the best arms in school history, and Max Lyall sure left big shoes to fill upon his graduation earlier this year. However, sophomore quarterback Stone Spiker had a nice showing for himself with two touchdowns through the air and zero turnovers in the victory.
Another year of turnover for Zanesville has seen its ups and downs for Zach Clapper’s squad, but one of the ups, has been the steady rise of quarterback Kason Hazlett. The sophomore threw for two touchdowns, accounting for 210 yards in the air while completing half of his passes. He also rushed for 45 yards as well to complete an all around impressive performance against Watkins on AM 1240.
Congratulations to all three athletes.
