MVHC Players of the Game – Week Ten

MVHC

ZANESVILLE, OH – It is truly hard to believe that the 2025 high school football regular season has come to a close. Alas, here we are, with week ten wrapping up another exciting regular season campaign, with the playoffs just around the corner.

To celebrate another tremendous regular year for local area teams, we highlight our week ten “MVHC” Players of the Game from our weekly radio game broadcasts.

It was a much needed win for Morgan in week ten on Z92, one that helped secured the Raiders spot in the Division V, Region 19 tournament bracket. In the clutch victory over Philo, junior Tanner Bankes ran all over the Electrics, dragging defenders with him en route to 106 yards on the ground with a touchdown.

Highway 103 might be the home of the MVL small school division, but this past week, it saw an unbelievable game, and rivalry upset in week ten. New Lexington was looking for its first unbeaten regular season since 1989, but Sheridan had another plans. Specifically, junior running back Logan Russell, who rushed for 95 yards, while also scoring off an 88-yard kick off return in the Generals’ victory.

Sheridan now faces Granville in the Division III, Region 11 opening round.

Despite another winless campaign, we witnessed progress across the board for Zanesville in the 2025 season. If you tuned in to the AM 1240 broadcasts, then you know that Maddox Mohler rarely leaves the field. The junior hauled in a pair of receptions for 30 yards in week ten against Licking Heights, while also securing an interception along with six tackles on defense.

Congratulations to all three athletes along with all others this regular season. Up next: playoffs!
