MVHC Players of the Game – Week Twelve

MVHC

ZANESVILLE, OH – Who is ready for week thirteen of high school football?

Three local area teams are headed to the regional semifinal round of the playoffs, but before we get to this Friday night, we cannot forget to look back on week twelve and our weekly ‘MVHC: Players of the Game’.

We start with the game from Z92 where Tri-Valley held off Hamilton Township in a fun 41-27 victory. While much of the scoring this year from the ‘Dawgs’ has come on the ground, Casen Baker found the end zone right off the bat. The senior wideout took a screen pass 67 yards for a touchdown on the team’s opening drive to set the tone for the win. He will look more of the same against Bishop Watterson this Friday night.

Meanwhile, from our game on Highway 103, New Lexington marched right into the regional semifinals after a dominant 39-0 shutout of Fairfield Union. For all the success of the Panthers this year, nothing happens without junior Eli Stephens and the rest of his line-mates on both sides of the ball. It sure does help when the big guys up front can create space both on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

Congratulations to both players.
