Myra Evans

Myra J. “Hoobie” Evans, 66, a cherished soul known for her vibrant spirit and warm heart, passed away peacefully at Willow Haven Care Center in Zanesville, Ohio, on September 8, 2024 surrounded by her adored family. Myra was born on July 1, 1958, in Zanesville, to the late Forest “Frog” and Shirley (Veyon) Evans, but became a life-long resident of Roseville, where she cultivated her journey rich in love, laughter, and community. Myra’s life was spent surrounded by her loving family, which came to include her brothers Forest “Spud” Evans, David Evans, Randy (Candy) Evans, Jeffrey (Amanda) Evans, Mike (Tonya) Evans, and Jamie Evans, along with her sisters Patricia (Earl) Durst, Teresa Alfman, Ronda (Walter) Evans, and Robin (Kenny) Riley. The family ties were further strengthened by the numerous nieces and nephews who brought additional joy to Myra’s life: Earl, Bobbie, Wendy, Eric, Richard, Jeremy, Randy, Zach, Natasha, Breanna, Todd, Dakota, Adrianna, Colton, Paige and Raighan. Her heart held a special place for her daughter Teaka and the two children she helped raise, Lynnzee and Leland. She also leaves behind several great nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Known for her smile and ability to turn strangers into friends, her front porch was her haven, a place where she spent countless hours crocheting and engaging in lively conversations with friends, family, and passersby. Myra never met a stranger; everyone was just a friend she hadn’t yet had the pleasure to meet. A true admirer of life’s simple pleasures, Myra was an avid bingo player whose competitive spirit was matched only by her generosity. Her laughter could light up a room, and her love for taking shots, especially her favorite pineapple jello shots, was well-known among her circle of friends and family. Myra’s legacy is not only in the love she shared but also in the traditions she passed on. Her skillful crocheting created not just beautiful crafts but also lasting memories for those she gifted them to. As Myra joins her beloved parents, grandparents and great nephew, Remington in eternal rest, she leaves behind a family fortified by her love, a community enriched by her presence, and a world that was undoubtedly brighter for having her in it. In accordance with her vibrant spirit, the family will gather to share stories, laughter, and maybe a shot or two in her honor, Thursday September 12, 2024 from 2pm -4pm and 6pm – 8pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville. Cremation will follow and a graveside service be held on a future date as she will be laid to rest with her parents in Crooksville Cemetery.
