National Night Out 2025

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Muskingum County Law Enforcement agencies are partnering together to participate in National Night Out.
It’s a campaign that’s held in communities from coast to coast every first Tuesday in August to strengthen police and community relationships.
“We have units from the Zanesville Police Department, we have K-9 Units… from both departments and we also have a marked unit coming from the state highway patrol,” Zanesville Police Department Patrol Bureau Commander Chris Rice said.
The Zanesville Police Department will also be holding their ‘Stuff the Cruiser’ project that aims to fill a police car with donated back to school supplies, which will benefit the students at Zane Grey Elementary.
“What we’re going to bring is, we’re going to have a marked unit, at least one there and we’re going to have a K-9 Unit there that’s going to do a demo. We’re also going to have a… our drone team, which is fairly new to our office. It’s been used a lot, it’s been a great resource for us and they’re going to be there doing some demo’s as well,” Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Captain Matt McCauley said.
The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening in the Secrest Auditorium parking lot with plenty of Conns potato chips, Pepsi-Cola and hotdogs; plus snow cones provided to the kids from the Sno Shack. This will be the first event of its kind in Muskingum County with plans to make this an annual event.
