Nationally renowned artist coming to Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A nationally renowned artist is coming to Zanesville Museum of Art in July as part of one of their monthly programs.
Michigan quilt artist, Elizabeth Brandt, will have her quilts on display till September 2nd at the Zanesville Museum of Art. During that time, Brandt will make a guest appearance for the Masters Apprentice Children’s Program July 22nd at 10:30 AM. Education Coordinator, Misty Johnson, explains the children attending will be able to get hands on experience with Brandt.
“Not only will they have first hand access to a lot of her amazing works here in our gallery but as a special treat Elizabeth Brandt herself will actually make a guest appearance. So the children will get to experience first hand learning from an artist explaining her creativity process.”
Brandt’s creative process is found throughout her art and Executive Director, Liane Snyder, says the exhibit encourages guests to find their own creativity.
“There is this really interesting balance in her work between color and design and shape and form and she really allows the moment to dictate how she’s going to create her work. So it’s extremely improvisational and if you go through the exercise exhibition we actually inspire you to think about what inspires your creativity.”
