National Road Elementary Holds First Winter Festival
Over night National Road Elementary School transformed into a holiday shopping wonderland.
This year, the elementary school held its first Winter Festival. Members of the community were encouraged to come out and do some holiday shopping with one, or several, of the 22 vendors.
"Today we’re having a winter festival, we have about 22 vendors set up in our gymnasium to make your Christmas shopping a little easier," said event organizer and P.T.O Parent, Danielle Frank. "Then to entertain the children while you’re shopping we have lots of craft tables set up for them. We also have the Muskingum County Sheriff’s department here making the free ID cards for the children. We have food, silent auction, and 50/50 as well."
The event was free to attend, and vender prices varied in an effort to encompass everyone’s budget. The day was about more then just shopping, Frank informed us they were also hoping to raise funds to better the school.
"We’re hoping to raise a lot of money for our school. We’re going to use it for field trips and activities and whatever other equipment we might need for the kids."
National Road Elementary School intends to make the Winter Festival an annual event.
