New Art Piece in Colony Square Mall’s Food Court

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – You can now enjoy a bright new mural on your way into the Colony Square Mall’s Food Court. 

The Artist Colony of Zanesville President, Kristen Brown debuted her newest art piece, two murals, one at the entrance and another covering an entire wall in the food court. The artist let us know that her inspiration was to make sure everyone felt involved.

Kristen told us, “Its important for me for everybody to feel included and feel welcomed. I’m all about kindness and being kind to people and bringing people together and kinda shining light on everybody, not just one person..”

The piece features a set of butterflies on one wall and a sunflower with an array of different skin tones on the arms on the other. Kristen is excited that these murals are here, but hopes that there will be many more to follow. 

“We’re trying to bring more opportunities for other artists too in the community. And the mall is really great about that, they are trying to come up with more ideas, more places for possible murals or projects for the artists and they are huge supporters. So it’s really wonderful,” she let us know.
