New Bakery Disappointed In Union Tactic

The New Bakery Company of Ohio issued a statement as a result of the picketing of local Wendy’s Restaurants.

Human Resources Manager Scot Donaldson says the New Bakery is disappointed the Union is engaging in tactics such as picketing and hand billing when both sides have agreed jointly to host a town hall style meeting this coming Monday.

That meeting is for the parties to explain their respective proposals and answer employee questions. Donaldson says the Bakery has been able to maintain a stable working environment for its employees during these difficult economic times. There have been no layoffs and employees enjoy an average wage rate of  $18.25 which exceeds the local Zanesville average by over $4.70 an hour.

Donaldson says the company hopes the Union will abandon this latest ineffective tactic of the past instead work toward Monday’s meeting.
