New Bakery Implements New Contract
The New Bakery in Zanesville makes a move that is not sitting well with its Union. Bakery Human Resources Manager Scot Donaldson says since the two sides met for a Town Hall meeting in November the Union was more interested in picketing Wendy’s Restaurants than trying to resolve a current contract dispute. So, Donaldson says, since contract negotiations are at a standstill, New Bakery implemented the last and best offer on the table. He says it’s good for employees who need health care in place before the end of the year so they can enroll. He says it’s also a pay raise for employees. Donaldson says New Bakery believes the move is legal. A spokesman the Baker’s Union Local 57 told Whiz News that they are not sure what the company is doing and will investigate it.
