The Colony Square Mall will welcome a new business in February.

‘The Vintage Rescue’ furniture store will feature unique pieces of new and used furniture as well as collectibles and more. Marketing and Business Development Coordinator Kevin Pinson said owner of the new store Mark Miller has several central Ohio locations that will all be consolidated to the 24, 000 square foot space in center court.

“He has pickers that work for him just like the show ‘American Pickers’,” said Pinson. “They go out to estate sales and different places and find all this unique stuff. We’ve got some movie props back here, some collectibles. I know he does old albums and movie and entertainment type collectibles as well so there should be a lot of neat stuff once he gets it filled up. ”

There is still work to be done before the store opens but they expect it to reach completion in February and Pinson said he hopes it’s the beginning of a string of openings at the mall.

“I think it’s a fantastic sign,” said Pinson. “We’ve gone through the great recession. I think we’re finally seeing a turnaround come out of that and we’re very hopeful that this is the first of several new announcements this year.”

You can take a peek at what the business will have in store. A showcase of pieces is on display in center court at the mall.
