New cigar lounge opens downtown Zanesville
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A new cigar lounge opens downtown Zanesville giving cigar aficionados a new place to hangout.
The Traveling Humidor opened its doors earlier this month. Situated at 29 North 3rd Street, the bar services anyone with interests in cigars and pipes.
“Anyone who just enjoys a good smoke can come hangout, watch tv, play some pool, play cards, checkers, chess,” said William Callahan who opened the lounge with his friend. “Enjoy a wide variety of cigars that we carry.”
The lounge was originally a traveling business – hence the name. The friends provided cigars for events throughout Ohio, but they also realized there was a market here at home and decided to open up shop. Ohio has strict smoking bans so the pair had to find a way to open their business here.
“It has to be a free standing building. The majority of your sales have to come from tobacco. And then, obviously, there’s age restrictions,” said Josh Binkley, Co-Owner of the lounge. “You can’t sell alcohol. So that’s why our back lounge is going to be BYOB.”
The back lounge will be an area for those with a membership. That will be open during the lounges’ grand opening May 5th. For more information you can visit their website. You can also find them on Facebook and Instagram.
