The New Community Church of White Cottage hosts Dodge ball benefit

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A local church took a unique approach to raising funds for the advancement of their building fund.

Saturday, many gathered in support of the New Community Church of White Cottage as they held a dodge ball game to generate funds for the advancement of the church.

“We’re a new church about two and a half years old and we’re just doing this to get our church up and running and much needed maintenance needs done to the church. I’m just really happy about the turn out and God bless everyone that comes,” Said Dustin Dady, New Community Church of White Cottage.

Two Maysville High School students say they came out to enjoy time with friends but also to show their love and support for the church.

“I come because it’s a thing for the church and I want to help out with the church and people that need help. We just come to have fun and hang out with our friends,” said Freshman, Hannah Jackson.

“I think it’s a good way to raise money. All of the kids are having fun and it’s a really nice church. We like to do what we can for it,” said Freshman, Autumn Shover.

The dodge ball tournament showcased several teams of all ages, and held at The Newton Township Fire Department.
