NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Jennifer Lyle has formally resigned from her position as mayor in a public statement. Village Council President Pro Tempore Robert Dickson will be sworn in as the new mayor at tomorrow’s village council meeting.

Lyle’s resignation comes three weeks after four village councilmen made public requests for her to vacate the position at the Sept. 22 council meeting. Their requests were based on what they described as lack of transparency, poor treatment of village staff, and hiding efforts to secure funding for a private entity.

“I intended to complete the final two years of my term, so this is not the ending I would
choose. But in recent months, the working relationship with the elected council members
(not the two appointed members) has become increasingly strained,” said Lyle. “For the sake of the
village — and for my own well-being — I am stepping aside.”

Dickson will serve as mayor until a successor is elected in the May 5, 2026 election.
