New County Commissioner President

Changes are happening at the Muskingum County Commissioners. Earlier today commissioner Jerry Lavy was voted by his colleagues to serve as president of the Muskingum County Commission for 2011.

"It means a lot to me that they, my fellow colleagues, here  feel a trust in me to lead the board in a new year which I plan to do in a very effective way " said Lavy.

Lavy says he will continue to be his normal self and will lead the board in the most productive way for Muskingum County. Since Lavy was Vice President he is ready to serve as president and deal with the main agendas.

"We have water and sewer issues continuously and those are probably our biggest items in the infrastructure and then dealing with you know helping the port authority out to secure some additional jobs in Muskingum County hopefully this year " said Lavy.

Another task on the agenda is finding an interim superintendent to repalce Sarah Somers.
