New Hometown Bakery

Zanesville gets their own hometown bakery.

In Good Taste Bakery opened its doors this afternoon for their official grand opening.  Owner Beth Hayes says she always had a love for baking ever since her mother taught her everything she knows.  In Good Taste Bakery features custom cakes, wedding cakes, breakfast pastries, cheesecakes, and more.  Hayes says this bakery has always been her dream.

"This is what I want to do. It always has been. I just suppressed that because I thought I couldn’t afford to do it. I saved enough money and I did it," said Hayes. 

Mayor Zwelling says there has been numerous ribbon cuttings in Zanesville over the last 17 months and that he is excited about more businesses prospering in the community including In Good Taste Bakery.  He also says this is the first full fledged bakery since Williams Bakery which closed more than five years ago.

"It smells so good in here that you can’t imagine. You want to taste one of everything. There is a great turnout for this opening, this ribbon cutting, and this place will definitely do well in this area," said Mayor Zwelling.
