New Lex Residents Frustrated Over Landfill

New Lexington residents are looking for a permanent solution to an ongoing problem…

Residents gathered at the New Lexington Eagle Club on Main Street Tuesday evening, regarding odors from the Tunnel Hill landfill Reclamation near New Lexington. Residents have complained of the strong odors for months, and one resident said he was told by the Perry County Health Department to stay indoors in order to avoid the smell. Environmental attorneys attended the meeting, as well Perry County Sheriff Randy Barker. The landfill was cited once in January, for the intense odor.
