New Lex softball enjoying tournament turnaround

One-third of the MVL’s softball teams remain in this year’s regional tournament, but one team has overcome the odds to make a run at history.

The New Lexington Lady Panthers started the season 1-7, but have clicked at the right time and will face Alexander in the regional semifinal on Wednesday.

The team’s coach, Dave Ratliff, has switched from the wrestling mat to the diamond in his first gig as a head softball coach.  Despite still searching for double-digit wins, Ratliff and the Lady Panthers hope to continue riding a recent hot streak and punch a ticket to the regional final.
