New Mexico Woman Banned from the State

A New Mexico woman is banned from returning to the State of Ohio.

Judge Mark Fleegle placed 21-year-old Ginger Maurer on community control for five months and told her to leave Muskingum County and the state and return to her native New Mexico within seven days.

A weapon seized in her case will be forfeited to the state to be destroyed.

Maurer faced one charge of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a count which she plead guilty to in October.

Sheriff Matt Lutz said  in August of this year Maurer and 59-year-old Teejay johnson, also of New Mexico, were stopped in Dresden. During a search of their vehicle, a .45 caliber handgun and an AR 15 were found.
