New One-Stop Shop for Patients

The Muskingum Valley Health Centers new Zanesville facility is officially open providing a one-stop location for patients.

Chief Executive Officer Dan Atkinson says the facility focuses on patients’ primary care needs from well checks and services when they are ill to prenatal care, dental services and podiatry. Atkinson says while most health care services will be offered through the new facility immediately, dental services will move into the center in November.

"This center is unique because we provide access to heath care to all individuals no matter what their payment source is. It doesn’t matter if you are uninsured or underinsured, you can have Medicare/Medicaid or private insurance. We provide health care to everybody…that’s our main goal is to provide access to primary care for the whole community," said Atkinson.

Atkinson says to be able to provide all of these services under one roof is truly exciting.

"It is extremely exciting to be part of opening a facility like this. The state of the art medical facility is an awesome thing to be a part of. Our staff is extremely excited. We look forward to continuing to serve the patients of Muskingum County and this wonderful facility," said Atkinson.

The facility is also in the process of finalizing implementation of new electronic health records.
