New Surgery Center To Open in Zanesville
Construction is currently underway for a new privately-owned surgery center in Zanesville.
Located at the intersection of Northpointe Drive and State Route 146, “Northpointe Surgical Suites” is scheduled to open its doors in the spring of 2016. The new project is an investment partly by the Orthopaedic Associates of Zanesville and other physician partners, in cooperation with a national surgery center development agency.
Dr. Brad Brautigan said the 5,000 square-foot facility will be an outpatient surgery center where physicians can perform total joint replacements, which is a procedure currently not offered in Zanesville.
“We wanted to bring outpatient total joint replacement closer to home, this would include total knee, total hip, total shoulder replacement, as well as our typical outpatient procedures,” Brautigan said.
Construction began just two weeks ago and is expected to be completed in May or June of next year. Brautigan said too many of his patients are traveling out of town to have outpatient procedures done, and the new facility will keep them closer to home.
“We wanted to bring this closer to home because patients are traveling as far as Caldwell, McConnelsville, Coshocton, and so forth, so bringing it closer to them is something that’s necessary and inevitable,” Brautigan said.
Brautigan said the new center is strictly an orthopaedically-focused outpatient facility. The Orthopaedic Associates of Zanesville will remain open on Bell Street for office appointments and consultations.
