ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz describes it as an office on wheels.

It’s the county’s new meth trailer. Sheriff Lutz showed the new drug trailer Friday, which is funded by confiscated drug money. And he also explains what it means for future investigations in Muskingum County.

“With the math labs getting more and more prevalent coming up in this area; we wanted something that will keep the guys safe. [Something] we can take out and effectively do the job,” said Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz.

Lutz said this office also needed to become more advanced to keep up with the expanding meth labs. And this trailer is a step toward helping them do just that.

“Once the math labs is neutralized, we can take the evidence in the trailer. The detectives or officer has a lot better conditions, a lot more room to sit down with that evidence. Try to process it and try to get fingerprints off of it and try to make a better case for Prosecutor Haddox,” said Lutz.

Lutz said the old trailer will not go to waste. The sheriff’s office plans on lending it to neighboring counties.
