Newark Man Charged With Arson

A Newark man is facing two counts of aggravated arson in connection with two fires last week at the same location.

Newark Police say 28-year-old Matthew Craig was arrested Tuesday night in connection with fires at 105 South 5th Street on September 20 and September 23.

Craig is being held in the Licking County Justice Center on a $75,000 bond.

His case will be presented to the Licking County Grand Jury on Friday October 9 where additional charges may be considered.
