Newark Man Dies In Bicycle Accident

The Newark Police Department says a man is dead after he was struck while riding his bicycle. Captain Craig Riley says it happened just after 7:30 a.m. Friday to 39-year-old David Gallant of Newark as he was riding his bike across the northbound lanes of North 21st Street by Deo Drive. Police says the driver of the northbound vehicle, 23-year-old Kodie Hutchinson of Newark was not injured. Gallant was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
