Newark Man Held On Pandering Obscenity Charge

A Newark man is being held in the Licking County Justice Center on multiple charges including pandering obscenity involving a minor. The Licking County Sheriff’s Office says it received information from the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office in Florida that William S. Phillips of 9530 Wilkins Run Road engaged in sending pornographic videos of himself to an undercover detective posing in an online chat room as a 13-year-old female. The Sheriff’s Office say the information also stated that Phillips engaged in sexual chats with an undercover detective. Deputies also say they found multiple images of underage children engaged in sexual acts in Phillips home. A Licking County Grand Jury will consider multiple charges against Phillips on September 23rd.
