Newark Police Search for Suspicious Vehicle

UPDATE: Newark Police were able to locate the female who was picked up by a suspicious male in the area of Everett Avenue. Detectives were able to confirm the female was not a juvenile, but rather a 19-year-old area resident. Detectives are still continuing to investigate this incident.

Newark Police are asking for help in locating a suspicious vehicle seen picking up a teenage girl Thursday afternoon.

It happened on Everett Avenue between 11:30 a.m.  and 12:00 p.m.

Police say a witness described an older male with grey hair and a mustache driving a silver or grey F-150 truck with dark or tinted windows and a cap.

An unknown young female wearing black jeans, a white shirt and a blue jacket around her waist and a black bag was seen getting into the truck.

The truck was last seen entering State Route 16 eastbound from North Cedar Street.

Police say minutes prior, the man attempted to get another teenage female into his truck, but she walked away.
