Newark Police Stop Looking For Missing Mom
It looks like the Newark Police Department has determined that the missing mom and son from Licking County may have been a pre-planned event and not criminal. Sara Apple and her son Max were reported missing last week to police and investigators were trying to determine with it was voluntary or involuntary. Sergeant Scott Snow says the following led investigators to that conclusion. Sara Apple was responsible for the family’s money management and was given significant resources to make the payments and did not, such as mortgage and car payments…numerous checks were returned with insufficient funds…existing bank accounts were drained and new accounts created to delay discovery of financial iniquities and undelivered “good bye” letters to some family and friends were discovered in her personal property. Sergeant Snow says while there is still great interest in finding 4-year-old Max, investigators are no longer activity searching for Sara Apple, as the victim of any crime. Newark Police say Mrs. Apple’s employer has reported a significant shortfall in Apple’s till and the employer will make a determination if they wish to pursue a criminal investigation into the missing money.
