Next Stop… Nationals

John Glenn High School held their 3rd annual cheer leading competition Sunday. Sponsored by Champion Cheer Central the competition featured over 45 teams from the local regions and surrounding states. John Glenn uses this show as a fundraiser for their own squads.

"As hectic as it is, it’s fun and exciting," said coach Shannon Fitzgerald.  " It gets easier each year," said coach Kelli Williams.

Not only did hundreds of spectators come to see these teams bring it on,  but the competition really shows the time, effort and energy it takes to cheer.

"The people who don’t really consider cheer leading as a sport um some people had other things to say once they saw our girl’s routine. So I think they get more respect from others, " said Williams.

Winning teams strive to qualify for nationals next month.
