No Evidence Of Roaming Lion In Perry County

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office says there is no evidence of a roaming lion reported by a woman who owns four big cats. Sheriff William Barker says that the woman told authorities last week she heard what sounded like a loose lion outside and that her own lions seemed to be reacting. Barker says the Ohio Department of Natural Resources spent the weekend searching around the woman’s property in Mount Perry and found no sign of any lion or other big cat. There is great concern about the issue since Muskingum County exotic animal owner Terry Thompson released dozens of animals then killed himself in October. Muskingum County Sheriff’s deputies were forced to kill 48 lions and other animals.
