Nominations are open for Women of Achievement in Muskingum County

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Nominations are now open for the Muskingum County YMCA’s 2026 Women of Achievement Awards are now open.

Since 1988, the Women of Achievement program has recognized local women who inspire lead and uplift their community. Nominations are open until Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. with multiple categories including the Lifetime Service Award.

“I think sometimes women tend to get a little underacknowledged. They’re often the work behind what is out front and there’s so many women now that really play a great role in our community. And I think it’s important to keep recognizing those that do step forward and help out community,” said Ruthie Ware from the Women of Achievement committee.

The event is also seeking sponsorship partners for the event with all proceeds will help launch the YMCA’s Livestrong program. Livestrong is a free 12-week wellness initiative for cancer survivors that offers community connection throughout their recovery.

“I feel like everybody has somebody that has cancer in their family or maybe has passed or dealing with it now, brother sister, mother. Personally for me, it was my mother and I’m like I would’ve loved to have this program being offered to her…” said Sarah Savage, health and wellness director at the Muskingum County YMCA. “… not just the physical but the emotional. I got to go shadow the Mansfield YMCA and had seen the program going on. It was emotional but it was great and I just know that we can give back to the community for this. It’s going to be absolutely amazing to have this in our community.”

You can submit your nomination for the Women of Achievement Event at MuskingumWOA.org. The nomination will require a minimum one-page letter supporting your nomination.
