ZANESVILLE, OH- The ZAAP Gallery has named Nora Daniel as their Artist of the Month for November.

Daniel grew up in New York City where she learned as well as taught art before moving to Ohio in 2005.

Throughout her life she has lived in Venice Italy, Havana, Cuba, and Hamburg Germany before settling down and teaching at the Columbus College of Art.

“She has been a long time member and a long time artist here in Zanesville.” Shelby Spilker, the Director of ZAAP, said. “This month she has a whole line of pieces from Coopersmill, where she’s taken inspiration from the farm out there and just painted a bunch of scenes of the chickens, the cows, clotheslines, just a whole mish-mosh of farmland and nature.”

People heading down to the Gallery for the First Friday Artwalk will see all of Daniels pieces but also works from many of the other members of ZAAP.

She says there will be light refreshments and a chance to meet new friends while enjoying a fall evening downtown.

“This month our theme is thankful, bountiful, fall so in our window theme you’re going to see some fall themes.” Spilker said. “The rest of our artists are just kind of doing their own thing.”
