Norma Baker
Norma Rosemary Baker, 93 of Roseville, (Ironspot), died 12:45 PM, Saturday, September 19, 2026, at her home in Roseville. She was born Monday, September 4, 1933, in Zanesville, the daughter of Francis S. Archer and Rosa M. (Hughes) Archer.
Norma was a kind, loving woman with a quick smile, warm hugs, and a wonderful sense of humor. She loved camping, the outdoors, gardening, her euchre club; she enjoyed bowling, crocheting, reading, traveling and her pets. Most of all being surrounded by her family and friends. She was active in the Roseville Friends of the Library, and her cancer survivor group, support buddies. She lived with strength, independence, and a generous heart.
Norma is survived by three children, Terry West of Stockport, Rosabeth (Reinhard) Dorfhuber of Carpinteria, CA, and Brenda (David) Zienta of Zanesville; one daughter-in-law, Patty West; grandchildren, Paul (Andrea) Volland, Luella (Rick) Epler, Misty West, Evertt (Jenni Bryan) West, Stephanie (Jake) Glassmire, Natasha (Matt) Annis, Kyle Hittle, Kody (Clarissa) Hittle, and Adam Zienta; eighteen great grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren with one due in January; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Archer of Morresville, NC, and Carol Archer of Zanesville; her best friend, Becky Brydon, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her first husband, Evertt West; her second husband, Richard Baker; two children, Patricia Volland, and Rodger West; one son-in-law, Robert Volland; one sister, Eleanor Mourtsen; six brothers, John Archer, Gene Archer, Jim Archer, Hugh Archer, Carl Archer and Ed Archer.
The family will receive friends and relative from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Hillis Combs Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Celebration of Life will follow at 5:00 PM, with Pastor Bobby Shaw officiating.
