ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you are interested in partaking in a funny and touching play, now is your chance.

Zanesville Community Theatre is holding auditions for their new play O’Donnell’s Pub. O’Donnell’s Pub is a story of a young American woman searching for her life’s meaning. The Theatre is looking for actors in the community that will be able to speak with an Irish accent, since the play takes place in Ireland. The play was written by Zanesville native, Christopher Brooks, and will be on stage for the first time in April.

“He wrote a play, this is his first play. He’s written books and movie scripts and sitcom scripts, but this is his first play. And we’re going to bring it to life, we’re really excited,” said Director David Schubach.

Schubach also said the Zanesville Community Theatre likes to produce original material, and it’s special to them to help showcase to the community something new.

“Bringing something new to life is part of their mission. And they’ve really embraced that, and it’s a great thing. Rather than just doing plays that have been around forever and ever. There’s a whole different mindset, atmosphere, and creative energy that is involved in bringing something new to life. And we’re really going to have a ball with this,” he mentioned.

Auditions for O’Donnell’s Pub took place at the Zanesville Community Theatre. There will be auditions again tomorrow night at 7 p.m. The Theatre will start production of the show in April.
