ZANESVILLE, OH – Traffic, safety, and the future of Ohio’s roads are up for discussion, and your voice matters.

ODOT is inviting the public to an open house to learn more about how the region’s transportation system is performing today, including safety, congestion, and infrastructure concerts. The meeting will also give residents a chance to provide feedback on Access Ohio 2050, the state’s long range transportation plan that will guide projects over the next 25 years.

“It’s part of Access Ohio 2050, the states long range transportation plan. It’s one of the ways ODOT ensures that our roads, bridges, and transportation systems are safe, reliable, and ready for the future. We’re looking ahead to 2050, thinking about growth, new technology, the needs of Ohioans, and how we can implement those things.” ODOT District 5 Public Information Officer, Chas Cosgrave said.

The open house will be held Tuesday, September 30th from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Zanesville Welcome Center. The event is open to the public, and ODOT says the main focus is gathering feedback from residents.

“It’s all about feedback and it’s all about maintaining that open dialog with those we serve. Access 2050 is all about building that long range plan for our transportation system. We want to make sure that we are in tune with the needs of all our Ohioans and having agood understanding of what they want to see.” Cosgrave said.

The Zanesville Welcome Center is located at 205 North 5th Street. For those unable to attend, details and a survey link are available online on the ODOT website.
