ODOT Reaches Milestone

The Ohio Department of Transportation is celebrating a milestone.

It has spent $2,000,000,000 during the 2010 state fiscal year on a variety of projects that span all forms of transportation.

More than 800 projects were awarded some of that funding, and ODOT was able to assist local transportation partners with about $500,000 for an additional 346 projects. One of those projects is taking place right here in Zanesville. Crews plans to pave a portion of Interstate 70 for a project that will total $6.2 million dollars.

ODOT Director, Jolene Molitoris, says the main intent of this investment was not only to promote safer travel but to also stimulate the state’s economy by creating jobs.
