Officer Involved Shooting In Perry County

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is heading up the investigating into an officer involved shooting in Perry County. Public Information Officer Jill Del Greco says it happened Saturday around 6:00 p.m. Del Greco say customers have told investigators that a man was behaving erratically and authorities were called to Ed’s Carryout at 123 Main Street in New Straitsville. Investigators say a police officer who responded was attacked and that shots were fired. Del Greco says they are now trying to figure out exactly what happened inside the store. They are also awaiting final autopsy result for the man that died. The officer was treated and released from a hospital. The name of the shooting victim has not yet been released.
