Ohio Auditor Public Debate

Debate

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Opposing viewpoints were joined to the public today for the public debate between Democratic nominee for Ohio Auditor of State Zack Space and Republican nominee Keith Faber.

The debate took place at Zane State College from noon to 1 pm. It was moderated by cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer’s Jeremy Pelzer. Both candidates were joined to discuss and face the issues of Ohio from a State Auditor’s perspective. Republican nominee, Keith Faber, discussed his goal as State Auditor.

“Look, what we want to do is make sure Ohio is more efficient, more effective, and more transparent. I think we can show ways using performance audits to make state government work better, faster, cheaper. And that’s the big nature of the Auditor’s office,” Faber said.

Democratic nominee, Zack Space, expressed his intentions as well.

“So again, I want to give people a reason to believe in government again. The government’s given them too many reasons not to. If you look at the influence of money on policy, it’s obscene, this represents a perversion of democracy. It’s not the democracy that my grandparents came here for a hundred years ago. Everybody should matter.” Space said.

Both candidates feel they have asserted good cases and look forward to the election on November 6th.
