Ohio bowling tournament coming to Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Ohio Women’s Inner City Bowling will have their 89th tournament.

Zanesville had been selected to host this years Ohio bowling tournament. The tournament is for women who live in cities with populations of 75 thousand or less. President of the Ohio Women’s City Bowling tournament Mary Little said this tournament brings a lot of money into the economy.

“We try to bring in about 250 teams of 5 women for each team. It’s a lot of ladies, a lot of addition to the economy here,” said Little.

Local chairperson for the inner city committee Andy Hoffman said being a sanctioned bowler is a requirement. She said tournaments are a good time for every bowler.

“Tournaments are just a good time to get to reconnect with friends that you haven’t seen in a while. It’s kind of fun to go to the tournaments and see those people again. Catch up and find out what’s been going on and have a little friendly competition there,” said Hoffman.

The tournament will be starting in February and goes through April. The tournament will be at Sunrise Strikes.
