Ohio Department of Aging Hosts Town Hall in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, OH – The Ohio Department of Aging brought people together in Cambridge today for a community town hall.

The event was held at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center, where older Ohioans, caregivers, and providers joined in meaningful discussions. The focus was on helping people live longer, healthier lives while preserving independence and dignity.

“We’re going to hear all about everything from financial stability to experiences with healthcare to experiences with care giving. What kind of supports do older adults need in this area, what kind of supports do they need to be healthy, and exercise and eat right. It’ll be a wide-ranging conversation today.” AGE Chief Program Officer, Jamie Carmichael said.

The Department of Aging supports Ohioans age 60 and up, along with their families and caregivers. Its programs include home and community-based services and health and wellness initiatives for every stage of life.

“We work with our aging network across the state. That’s made up of our Triple A’s, the Local Area Agencies on Aging, our senior center partners, Alzheimer’s Association chapters across the state, and many other organizations. We distribute funding to them. We also certify home and community-based health services that people can get in their homes or assisted living facilities. So, there’s a lot of programs that we offer through our partners across the state.”
