Ohio District Council Celebrates 100 Year Milestone

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The Ohio District Council of Pentecostal churches celebrated 100 years here in Zanesville.

A balloon release was held on Wednesday at Hallowed Hills campground to commemorate the accomplishments of the Ohio District Council. ODC leaders would like to remind the community that these events are open to the public and they would love for those who can attend to do so.

“The balloon release is just a wonderful announcement of what’s been going on for 100 years. A lot of it has been taking place in Zanesville Ohio. We’re so excited to be a part of Zanesville Ohio…it’s going to be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” ODC chairman Darrell Cummings said.

The week-long centennial celebration is still ongoing with various gatherings, services and ways to fellowship together.

“I would like Zanesville and the people that I grew up with, many of which are still alive, to come out and participate with us,” ODC Bishiop James W. Gaiters said.

The ODC is the 3rd Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World representing more than 100 churches across Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

And after a century of faith, fellowship, and service, the celebration continues.
