Ohio Division of Unclaimed Funds Unveils System Upgrade
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Unclaimed Funds has unveiled a new system designed to make it easier for Ohioans to search for lost funds.
Currently there is about $4.8 Billion in unclaimed funds from things like dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, utility deposits, and unclaimed wages.
Susie Wagner, the outreach supervisor with the Division of Unclaimed Funds, said this new system will potentially speed up the process for people looking to claim their funds.
“Our new system is going to help claimants potentially get their money even faster,” Wagner said. “It’s a more efficient way that we’re able to support them in getting their money back.”
The new system is accessible through the Division’s website and features a number of improvements in both efficiency and functionality for users looking for their unclaimed or forgotten funds.
Wagner says now you will be able to enter your name and search for any unclaimed funds, upload documents, and check on the status of your claim.
“The reason we have this new system and we are launching it now is because we have listened to the feedback we have gotten and we wanted to leverage technology, be more innovative, and meet those requirements of the Ohioans we serve,” Wagner said.
