Ohio Green Living Fair Comes to Zanesville

Ohio Green Living is holding it’s annual Fayre, but it’s in a different city than vendors are used to…Zanesville.

Ohio Green Living Volunteer Annie Warnke says they used to gather at an organic farm near Columbus, but they outgrew the venue there.

So, you could check out the event at Zane Landing. It wraps up at 6 p.m.

“We’re hoping this is our permanent home, so that annually on Labor Day, we’ll be here setting up shop and saying come learn, ” says Warnke.

Warnke says more vendors are attending this year, and there’s a bigger kids program. Kids were able to get in for free.

One of the issues taking center stage at the Fayre is solar energy.

“We have a solar stage that is powered by the sun, and it’s going to work even though there’s not real sun today. Actually, we have a workshop today on solar cooking. The sun, even when it’s behind the clouds like this, will create about 100 degrees in temperature in a box that’s made of cardboard, ” says Warnke.

Warnke says she hopes people walk away, thinking about a greener lifestyle that may save them money and will also help the environment.
