Ohio State’s Hartline Trading In Buckeyes for Bulls, Accepting South Florida Job

COLUMBUS, OH – The coach hiring cycle never really stops, even if the postseason is just around the corner.
Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline will be the new head coach at South Florida, as confirmed by his new employer. This is Hartline’s first head coaching job at any level, though it will not officially begin until he sees out the rest of this year with the Buckeyes.
Regarded as one of the top wide receiver developers in the nation, Hartline has worked with the likes of Chris Olave, Garrett Willson, Emeka Egbuka, Marvin Harrison Jr, and currently Jeremiah Smith, just to name a few of the Buckeyes wideout greats.
Hartline has been with the program since 2017, which includes two stints as the offensive coordinator in addition two his wide receiver coaching duties.
Once he heads south for Tampa, Ryan Day will be in search of his third offensive coordinator in three years, after losing Chip Kelly after the 2024 season.
