Old Timers Hall of Fame
Five men will soon be inducted into a local hall of fame for their accomplishments in baseball.
The Muskingum Valley Old Timers Association will host its annual Hall of Fame Banquet next month, honoring our area’s finest. Pat Bollinger, Mike King, Chad Hale, Bill Moyer, and former professional baseball player for the New York Mets, Jay Payton, will all be inducted.
“I’ve been at several hall of fames myself, and saw people, and it’s amazing how being put into a hall of fame affects people, they get very emotional,” said Executive Director of the Old Timers Association, Bob Wolfe.
The banquet will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall on November 1 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person and that includes a chicken dinner. President of the Old Timers Association and inductee, Pat Bollinger, told us what this honor means to him.
“When they talk about shedding a tear or two, it shocked me, I was in shock, it’s an honor to go into the Hall of Fame,” Bollinger said.
