One in custody after car chase involving stolen car
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Authorities are investigating a car chase in South Zanesville involving a stolen vehicle from out of state.
Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said at approximately 1:06 a.m. on Tuesday a deputy tried to stop a suspicious car with fictitious tags on Maysville Pike. The driver of the car led authorities on a 30-minute pursuit until the driver crashed the vehicle on Green Street.
Two passengers were taken into custody, and the driver fled on foot. He was apprehended after a 6-minute pursuit.
Lutz said the driver and two passengers were locals and the car was reported stolen from Pittsburgh.
There were no injuries reported.
